Coming into Week 15

Week 15 5/20 On Monday, our lesson will be our new list of words -these words are story-based words that will help students better understand the story. Students will learn the definition and view pictorials through a PowerPoint presentation.  Homework will be to write the words 1-13 in their bubble book 2 times each and write a simple definition.  NO sentence writing will be required. 5/21 On Tuesday, we will continue our week 15, word list with words 14-25. Students will need to complete a picture-to-word, definition handout in class. This will help students visualize the words to better understand them from the story. Homework will be for students to write 5 sentences using the words from week 15's list.  5/22 Wednesday-no formal lessons   students will go on an outing with their homerooms 5/23 Thursday, we will review all concepts and spelling words. Make corrections in the RWN and review our story notes. Homework -please study and review for tomorrow Friday, May  24th unit

Our Story and Lessons for Week 14 are all based on The Man Who Named the Clouds

 students will learn  vocabulary - definition, usage, and recognition using context clues - read around the sentence to find the meaning of the word which may have more than 1 meaning.   (club-a large stick, or a group of people who share the same interest) spelling words - adding -ed (past tense) and adding - ing (present progressive) to the base word (verb) grammar conventions - action (shows an act/action) and linking (do not show action/verb to be) verbs story comprehension 

As Exam 2 week comes to an end...

  Students here are some encouraging words of advice I hope you can think about. Grade 4 Spelling Bee Notice

  Dear parents,  The school’s Grade 4 spelling bee will be held on Friday 5/31 .  In order to chose five class representatives, our home room will be having a preliminary contest during experience class time on Wednesday 5/15 .  Grade 4 students should prepare for the Flyers word list first, with challenge words selected from the KET word list.  These are available for download on the school website.  Please assist your child to prepare at home if they would like to enter our home room spelling bee contest.  Thank you, Grade 4 Teaching Team https://www.hmps.tp.edu.tw/ xinmin-download.html
